Royal Distortion is an unsigned New Alternative/Indie rock band formed in 2018 in Los Angeles by singer IQueen and guitarist Pyn Doll, the two founders of the successful international touring act Barb Wire Dolls.

Barb Wire Dolls are the Greek band that Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead personally signed, and the Dolls garnered critical acclaim for their three studio albums while headlining over 900 shows in 25 countries since their start in 2010 including playing all of Vans Warped Tour in 2017 to much success. Barb Wire Dolls has been featured on 26 magazine covers worldwide and has been heralded as the “best new punk band in two decades” by multiple press outlets.

In 2018, Royal Distortion was born to create a fresh new sound…

“Me and Pyn put in our ten thousand hours while touring the world with Barb Wire Dolls, and it was time that we started a new band to play another style of music that we write. Punk was too limiting and with Royal Distortion, the skies the limit. Our new songs are full of mystery and magic, filled with the essence of our life on the road, and the California summer breeze that inspired us to be dreamers.” – IQueen

With two other extremely talented musicians (Gabe Maska on bass and Kevin Tylor on drums), Royal Distortion are rapidly creating a major buzz in Los Angeles with a new passionate sound that is moving people. The bands’ first performances were a monthly residency at The Viper Room and they are performing every Monday (starting May 2018) at Whisky A Go-Go as their house band; this is the first time in decades that the legendary venue has invited a band to headline on a weekly continuous basis.

“A new sound” – LA Weekly

“Royal Distortion is like a modern cross between Blondie and U2 with edgy Pop-rock anthems that hook you instantly. They have created a unique dreamy rock-solid wall of sound, and there’s is a must-see live show. Royal Distortion are L.A.’s hot band to watch.” – L.A. Artists

“Royal Distortion is ready to break on through in a grand and regal way – especially if their live shows are indicative of greater glories ahead.” – Highwire Daze
