Aponia, from North Hollywood, CA, brings vintage rock to 2012 by blending Blues and Grunge, fused with tasteful programming and electronics. Heart and soul bleed through the music while angst-driven vocals tell the story in their upcoming album, Life Is Worth Surviving. Their debut EP, Freedom From Pain, was called, "Something fresh for music; something music needs." The band wants to provide a musical outlet that gives hope to people overwhelmed by both the world around them and their own personal demons. They want those people to know they are not alone and life is worth surviving.

We have been together for about a year now. The band includes George Simmons(lead guitar and vocals), Jordan Ledezma(rhythm guitar and vocals), Stephen Fowler(bass and vocals), and Andres Owens(drums and vocals). We all go to La Habra High School but three of us are graduating this year. Our sound is very grunge influenced but it has evolved as we have progressed as a band. Some of our influences are Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, and Jack White. We write about the positive things in our lives but mostly the negative and we try not to sugarcoat it. We write about the bad because everyone goes through the crap and hopefully are musical can relate and help them get out of whatever negative feelings they're in
"If you look for a single word to describe this band, it must be “unusual”. Originally created in 2011, this formerly 2-piece alternative rock band from Ireland has been acquiring its own style, influenced by many grunge, riot grrrl and industrial rock formations. Some time later, Johnny Horne finally found its long waited third family member in Tyler Frenzel, an amazing Californian drummer who, together with Patricia Ayllon (bass) and German Garcia (guitar and vocals), lifted up this project to a whole new level: Split between two different countries, and separated by an ocean and 5141 miles, these guys are committed to beat up Rock, disregarding distance and time-zone. Fuzz distortions, heavy bass lines, kickass drums and powerful, direct lyrics. That’s what Johnny Horne is about."
